Hurdles
  • Me leading them to.
  • Volunteers, Leaders for teams, and more planning for Sunday morning. I think we need more volunteers and I think our volunteers need more leadership and training. I know that people are made to feel welcome, but I also notice some people walking by groups of greeters and receiving only an obligatory “hello, welcome to Local Church.” because greeters are more concerned with continuing the conversation that they are in. I think it would be so helpful if we could get a volunteer leader for each team, so that the teams are getting more coaching on Sunday morning. I know this is everyone’s goal, but I do think it’s holding us back at the moment, only having a few leaders spread over so many different areas. The other hurdle I see is Sunday morning planning. I’m not sure if anyone else feels this way but Sunday has become pretty routine for me. As I answered the survey questions I realized I didn’t really know if we had thought about many of the things the survey mentions. Maybe we do, but I’m just not aware of it. I think it’s possible we’re not being quite as intentional about Sunday mornings as we used to be.

  • Hospitality is very important to us, plus we can only continue to inspire long islanders to follow Jesus if we are “guest ready”
  • To inspire more people to follow Jesus
