Hurdles
  • Our facility is brown. Although our family is welcoming, the facility is not but our elders are so proud of it.
  • Trained volunteers strategically placed
  • Perhaps a bit more specific training for greeters and hostesses concerning desired protocol.
  • Overcoming lethargy and resistance to change
  • Maybe lack of knowledge?
  • Age of the bulk of the congregation.
  • Tradition
  • Overcoming the reluctance to accept change.
  • Out of date church(the look), older volunteers, need to come up to the 21st century.
  • We must make our volunteers aware of what is needed in each area of ministry.
  • Older members resistance to change
  • Change is not easy
Enablers
  • So that we can reach the lost.
  • To retain visitors
  • If we all know what is expected, or know the protocol for guests… This makes things more cohesive.
  • Without a collective sense of purpose and urgency we will fail.
  • Because we love people and we want to serve their needs.
  • We want guest to make our church their home church.
  • Because we ARE the church… if we don’t make guests welcome, or help our church grow, it will die.
  • We want to reach the lost and hurting. Our guests should feel welcome and wanted. We should exceed their expectations and make attending our church something they desire.
  • To bring more people into God kingdom.
  • We should all get on the same page as far as being welcoming and interested in our guests.
  • Converting visitors into members
  • A guests first impression of a church is when they walk into the front doors. They should be able to feel God’s love the moment they walk in. What if at that moment, we are the ones between them chosing Heaven or hell?
